We are thrilled to announce that we are offering The Art of Projection Design Master Class. We have been awarded one of Theatre Alberta’s coveted 2017/2018 Workshops By Request: Rocky Mountain Series slots. We have chosen to invite Jamie Nesbitt to Banff for 3 days of learning how to create the visuals you want in your show.

By collaborating with Theatre Alberta and Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity we are able to offer up a fantastic course at a fantastic price, for anyone interested in working with video and projection design in theatre.

Projection design is a vast and complex form that has become ubiquitous in the creation of theatre. Successful projection design requires a great deal of skill and versatility even though technological advances in software and affordable projectors have made it much easier to program a show. Equal weight must be placed on technical learning as well as the creation of video art.

Participants in this three-day intensive will join award-winning designer Jamie Nesbitt in the hands-on exploration and application of theatre projection. Participants will utilize software that enables them to navigate complex projection challenges while developing video content that will make their art look amazing. The master class will focus on the integration of design programs including After Effects and Photoshop with Isadora projection software.

This master class is intended for theatre designers and technicians wishing to learn or improve upon their video projection design skills. Computer workstations will be provided, however participants are welcome to bring personal Mac laptops.
