History of Stage Rigging & Tour of MacEwan University’s new Triffo Theatre

All CITT members should plan on being in Edmonton on Monday, September 25 at 7pm. Rick Boychuk will be on hand to present a quick lecture on the History of Stage Rigging. This will be followed by a tour of the brand new Triffo Theatre in MacEwan University’s newly built Allard Hall.

If you are wondering who Rick Boychuk is:

• in 2016 CITT Awarded him The Ron Epp Memorial Award for Professional Achievement in a technical discipline within the Canadian live performance industry;
• and The Award of Technical Merit for outstanding achievement in the use of theatre technology at their Rendez-vous National Conference in Winnipeg.
• Rick also recently published his book Nobody Looks Up: The History of the Counterweight Rigging System, 1500-1925.

This free event is being put on in collaboration with the University of Alberta Department of Drama and MacEwan University Theatre Production Department.
